Did you win a YCCSC Cruising Pennant for 2009? Join us for exciting cruise destinations for 2010!
This is a reminder that the Labor Day cruise is this weekend. We are planning to go to Fairlee Creek leaving Saturday and returning on Monday. It is about a 20 mile trip from the Magothy River one way. For those who are interested, last year we had Sunday Brunch at Mears Great Oak Landing and we will probably do the same this year. Fairlee Creek is far enough north that we ought to be free from jellyfish so the swimming should be good. There are no water taxies so plan on bringing your dingy. The entrance can be challenging, see the closeup drawing and chart for guidance. We will be anchoring in 5-6 feet of water. As I’m sure you know, there is Hurricane Earl out in the Caribbean. It is projected to come up the east coast this weekend. Please keep an eye out and use your judgment about venturing out. If there are small craft advisories posted, we will probably cancel this trip. I will send out an email on Friday.
Don’t forget to fly your YCCSC Burgee! These trips count for cruising points, so plan on attending.
YCCSC Annual Picnic
The Yacht Club Annual Picnic was held Saturday, July 31, starting at 2 p.m. and was hosted by Mike and Amy Juras at their home on the Little Magothy . Look in the Photo Gallery for great water fight pictures!
The next land-based event is the infamous YCCSC Chili Cookoff, going to be held October 16! Start reving up your recipies! More information will be sent out in September.
